Irabina Autism Services joins Aruma
In a move to secure a bright future for Irabina participants, their families, and our dedicated staff for many years to come, we’re joining Aruma – one of Australia’s largest disability service providers.
Irabina and Aruma share a purpose of supporting people with disabilities to live the life they choose. Joining with Aruma ensures Irabina’s participants can continue receiving their vital supports from clinicians they know. For a child or young person with Autism, consistency and routine is incredibly important.
Aruma offers Irabina customers, families, and staff a range of benefits, including:
- Participant access to a broader range of supports, not only when participants are children and young people, but for their lifetime, including School Leaver Employment Supports, Social and Community Participation, Supported Employment and Home and Living supports.
- Staff access to training and development opportunities through their Registered Training Organization, internal leadership training programs and potential for experiences supporting other types of services.
Irabina will see some immediate changes. Our Bayswater site will remain open; however, we are currently in the process of closing our Bundoora and Pakenham locations as part of our strategic realignment to better meet operational needs, enhance efficiencies, and continue delivering exceptional services to our communities. Aruma is looking at options for services and staff in these areas and will support staff and participants to make alternative arrangements in the meantime.
Our goal is to continue to grow and offer services in more locations over time by co-locating at Aruma’s key sites.
We are committed to maintaining our legacy of supporting individuals with Autism in Melbourne and beyond. Our decision to merge with Aruma is a strategic move that will allow us to extend the significant work and positive impact we’ve made for countless children and young people with Autism over the past 50 years.
