At Irabina, we’re committed to providing a full wraparound support to families. From the minute you come to us, you don’t need to go anywhere else. We provide all therapies and services to children and young people with autism from diagnosis to any number of therapy options. Part of that wrap-around support is having in-house paediatricians. A paediatrician is a specialist doctor who manages the health of children, including physical, behaviour and mental health issues. We find that having these specialists on staff adds to the quality of care and support we can provide to families.
We know that any specialist doctors are very expensive and often have long waitlists. Not only do our onsite paediatricians know autism intrinsically well, but because they are part of the Irabina team, we can avoid long wait times for appointments. Once you have a referral from a general practitioner, you will be able to visit our onsite paediatrician to discuss your concerns with and formulate a plan to support your family.
At Irabina, we are acutely aware of the difficulties people are going through in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many families are struggling with living expenses and the cost for a specialist doctor like a paediatrician is often too much. We find that unacceptable at Irabina, so to ensure we can support as many families as we can during this difficult time, we’re making our paediatrician services fully bulk billed and accessible online or face-to-face. That means 100% of the appointment cost can be claimed on Medicare. No out of pocket expenses at all.
Paediatricians at Irabina work closely with our psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and educators to provide a wrap-around and holistic service to Irabina’s children and their families.
This multi-disciplinary approach is ideal for children and young people affected by autism, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and operating as a team for the wellbeing of your child.
At Irabina we provide support for children at all levels across the autism spectrum and with other related developmental disorders. We won’t turn anyone away.
To ensure Irabina’s autism-specific paediatric services are accessible to all, we are happy to deliver sessions online via Telehealth.
Using your phone, laptop or tablet, telehealth sessions at Irabina enable you and your child to see, speak with, and hear the paediatrician from the convenience of your own home. This is ideal for people and families who may have difficulties travelling to appointments, taking time from work, live in a regional area, or be required to stay at home.
Irabina’s telehealth services are customised for the platform, with our experienced paediatricians happy to assist you at every step.
