Irabina Autism Services is seeking a Maintenance Officer / Grounds Keeper to work across all our sites in Bayswater, Pakenham and Bundoora.

About You:

You will be someone that rolls up their sleeves and takes pride in their work. The role will cover  work across all our sites which are located in Bayswater, Pakenham, Kilsyth and Bundoora.

Along with your trade background you will be an experienced all-round handy-person with solid skills in repair and maintenance including replacing door handles, knobs, patching plaster, painting, and general maintenance of buildings, playground equipment and grounds and gardens. You will need to coordinate the day to day implementation of maintenance works with key business stakeholders which may require work outside of traditional work hours.

A trade qualification or background is preferred but not essential, however all-round handy-person skills are required.

Key Requirements:

• A warm and bright personality with a positive attitude
• Previous hands-on experience in repairs and maintenance
• Proven ability to manage and complete jobs in a set period with limited supervision
• Be competent in the use of basic hand and power tools
• Have basic safety knowledge related to the transportation of tools, materials, and work pieces in and around work areas
• Have a clear understanding of safe Work Health & Safety practices
• Provide fast and efficient service for maintenance requests
• Must be eligible to obtain Working with Children’s Check, Police Check and other business-related compliance checks
