The position 

We are looking for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. We work with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  1. Planning and providing therapy to children with an ASD in a trans-disciplinary group environment
  2. Providing family service coordination to allocated families
  3. Providing information regarding sensory motor skills, participation in daily living skills and the role of the occupational therapist to families
  4. Providing individual and/or group therapy to children in line with identified family centered goals
  5. Undertaking relevant motor, sensory, play and self-care assessments
  6. Documenting all assessment and intervention information, including therapy reports, to a high standard, consistent with Irabina policies
  7. Undertaking ongoing professional development to work towards the below competencies
  8. Attending and contributing to regular discipline specific meetings.
  9. Contributing to discipline specific and Irabina wide planning and evaluation of services
  10. Participating in clinical supervision and mentoring sessions
  11. To provide clinical supervision to more junior staff members
  12. To provide student supervision
  13. To participate in Quality Improvement activities on an ongoing basis
  14. To display a commitment to self-directed learning
  15. To lead or co-lead a specific program e.g. feeding group, basketball program


  1. Occupational Therapy Qualification and eligibility for practicing membership of Occupational Therapy Australia.
  1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Paediatric Occupational therapy service provision.
  2. Previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
  3. Awareness of principles of, and dedication to evidence-based practice.
  4. Awareness of the principles of family centered practice.
  5. Previous experience supervising junior occupational therapists and/or occupational therapists Students.
  6. Applicants must undergo a Working with Children check.
  7. Applicants must undergo a Police check.
  8. Current driver’s license.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. High level negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
  11. Commitment to providing services to people from diverse language/cultural backgrounds.
  12. Eligible for a Medicare provider number.
  13. Member of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).


  1. Knowledge and experience working with NDIS participants.
  2. Previous experience or willingness to use telehealth platforms for clinical assessments and intervention.
  3. Further training in the ESDM, SOS and/or DIR/Floor time model would be viewed favorably.
