Irabina is seeking to appoint Behaviour Analysts to facilitate our ABA programs at our Bayswater site. The role is both profession specific and one of a skilled early intervention worker and family service coordinator. This role requires a strong understanding of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and advise the Team Leader Behaviour Analysis in matters pertaining to the delivery of ABA services at Irabina.
  • Ensure the ABA programs are being run in accordance with Irabina’s standards and quality assurance processes, based on our ABA program model.
  • Provide effective coordination and efficient management of ABA in conjunction with the Team Leader Behaviour Analysis.
  • Attend and support initial assessments of new children into the ABA program.
  • Develop goals based on assessment data.
  • Collaborate with other relevant professionals to develop appropriate ABA programs for the home, community and clinic settings.
  • Develop and implement ABA programs.
  • Train Behaviour Technicians to implement programs and behaviour plans.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client’s progress.
  • Problem solve challenging situations with clients with the support of other relevant clinical professionals.
  • Attend monthly review meetings with parents and therapists to review children’s progress and update goals in their ABA program.
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks and client documentation.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioural skill acquisition and behaviour reduction protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarise data on observable client behaviour.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s individualised treatment and behaviour reduction protocols.
  • Provide direct client care in both individual and group settings by utilising a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements, and as directed by the therapy team (i.e. for group settings).
  • Utilise safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of visual materials and activities for groups as required (i.e. by therapists or for 1:1 ABA sessions) and complete visual orders for families when ordered.
  • Provide leadership and support the professional development of the ABA Therapists.

EXPERIENCE & ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Appropriate qualification related to being a Behaviour Analyst. This includes a clinical designation or to be working towards a qualification in ABA (e.g. BCBA)
  2. Strong understanding of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis
  3. Preferably 7 years clinical or ABA experience.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. High level of negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
  6. Experience in paediatric therapy service provision.
  7. Implementation of principles of, and dedication to evidence-based practice.
  8. Implementation of the principles of family centered practice.
  9. Able to provide evidence of strong leadership skills and capabilities.
  10. Implementation of the principles of family centered practice.
